Brawley Software Update 7.1.0
Software update 7.1.0 brings new mobile app functionality, Emergency Braking, improved cabin controls, climate memory, and additional vehicle-system enhancements to the Vanderhall Brawley.
Vanderhall continues to expand the Brawley ownership experience through software. Brawley software version 7.1.0 introduces support for the new Vanderhall mobile app, enables Emergency Braking, improves several frequently used cabin controls, and includes updates to battery thermal management and vehicle diagnostics.
New Vanderhall Mobile App
A new Vanderhall mobile app is available for Apple and Android devices. Brawley owners should delete the previous Vanderhall app and download the new version.
Brawley software version 7.1.0 is required to use all currently available Brawley functions in the new Vanderhall mobile app.
Emergency Braking
Emergency Braking is enabled on the Brawley.
In an emergency, press and hold both the plus (+) and minus (-) gear selector buttons on the steering wheel at the same time. This engages the parking brakes and rapidly brings the vehicle to a stop.
Maintain control of the steering wheel as the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The Brawley will automatically shift into Park after the emergency stop.
After two seconds in Park, press the brake pedal and the plus (+) gear selector button to exit Park when ready to continue driving.
Emergency Braking is intended for emergency situations. Use the brake pedal for normal vehicle braking.
Faster Control Adjustments
The drive mode, fan speed, and temperature switches support press-and-hold scrolling.
Press and hold the appropriate switch while watching the digital display in the speedometer. Release the switch when the desired drive mode, fan speed, or temperature is reached.
Improved Lock/Unlock Controls
The door lock/unlock switch was updated for more intuitive operation.
Upon entering the vehicle, the first press locks the doors. Pressing the switch again unlocks them. The current lock state is displayed on the digital display whenever the lock/unlock function is used.
The door pull straps continue to function as before. When a door is locked, the first pull of that door's strap unlocks that door only.
Climate Control Memory
The Brawley remembers the temperature and fan-speed settings that were active when the vehicle was shut down.
Those settings automatically return the next time the vehicle is started.
Additional Vehicle Improvements
Software version 7.1.0 also includes several behind-the-scenes improvements.
Battery heating and cooling were optimized to improve DC fast-charging and cold-weather performance.
Vehicle self-diagnostics were also expanded with additional self-checks designed to provide Vanderhall service technicians with more information when diagnosing a vehicle fault.
